We want to ensure our students grow as individualsand support them academically and in their personal growth.Hence, Learning Conversations Day is a series of events and workshops to help teachers and students achieve just that!Students held 1:1 meetings with their teachers and engaged invarious educational workshops during the day to encourage good communication and help build a holistic learningexperience.

Hair For Hope 2023
To commemorate Hair for Hope’s 20th anniversary, 20 bravemembers of the Nexus community came together to shave their heads and make a bald statement for children with cancer, conveying a key message that they are not alone, and we arealways rooting for their recovery. Hair for Hope is the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF)’s annual fundraising campaign forchildren with cancer. By shaving their heads, participants help toraise awareness of childhood cancer and the many side effectsof cancer treatment, which include hair loss and lowered self-esteem. The symbolic gesture shows children that being bald isnot something they should be ashamed of or embarrassed about.

Young Engineers Challenge
The Ninja Turtles— our all-female, Upper Secondary student steam, created an electronic waste sorting machine during the Young Engineers Challenge, which was held in MRANTI, Bukit Jalil. These machines were designed to be placed in shopping malls to help tackle waste, thus tackling today’s global issues. By the end of the two-day event, they whipped up a fully functioning prototype, and best of all, all their efforts paid off as they took home second place in their category! Well done Team Ninja Turtles!

turkiye-syria earthquake relief
Our AISM community got together for a fundraiser to aid those affected by the Turkiye-Syria Earthquake in February 2023.Students in the Junior School enjoyed activities such as facepainting and sticker-making during their lunchtime, while the Middle and Senior school students were treated to a busking performance by the Senior School band. Everyone enjoyed delectable treats at our bake sale! Our PTC did their part by organising a Turkiye-Syria drop-in donation desk where goodssuch as tents, sleeping bags and blankets were donated. Great things happen when the AISM community gets together; we’ve proven it with this fantastic effort.

Solar Panels
In our continuous efforts to create a more sustainable future for our young learners, 350 solar panels have been installed on our school roof. Our solar panels derive clean, pure energy from the sun to generate electricity and do not emit any carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gasses. This means we save about 725 trees worth of Carbon Emissions every year. Here’s to a more sustainable future!

Befriending Feelings
Our Year 7 learners attended a talk by our school counsellors at our school’s auditorium on Befriending Feelings. Our learners learned that their feelings are important and were taught how to manage their emotions during challenging and stressful situations. They were also reminded that emotional intelligence is vital to success in many life areas. It was a fantastic session as they shared their thoughts and experiences with their peers while getting to know each other better.
